Being part of this process and having the chance to talk with the people who made this vision a reality was beyond rewarding. Led by CMLC and Calgary Stampede, this project came together thanks to the hard work and creativity of teams from Populous, Stantec, PCL Construction, M3 Development Managers, RJC Engineers, Level Playing Field, Heavy Industries, S2 Architecture, Eos Lightmedia, and O2 Planning & Design. Each of them had a story to tell, and together, they’ve created something truly iconic that will shape Calgary’s skyline and culture for years to come. It’s been an honor for us at Mediapop to capture their stories and this journey on film.
The post-production for this series was a full in-house effort, led by our own Ryan Northcott. From the meticulous color grading to the custom-composed score, every detail was shaped to bring out the best in the story of the BMO Centre. The color grade was designed to enhance the striking colors and beautiful design elements of the building, making sure the vibrant neon lights, intricate architecture, and expansive spaces popped on screen just like they do in real life. When it came to the music, Ryan spent hours searching for the perfect tracks to match the epic scale of the construction. But after countless hours, nothing fit the tone and scope of the project. So, in true Mediapop fashion, he decided to create something original. Enter the BMO Suite—a series of original scores Ryan wrote and produced, inspired by the rich history of the Stampede and infused with a western flair. Each track builds and evolves, mirroring the scale of the design and capturing the cinematic essence of this incredible build. The result is a one-of-a-kind score that’s as monumental as the project itself.
